Ceyda Kıyak
Psychologist & Researcher

Hi, I am Ceyda Kiyak, living and working in Norwich, UK. I have always been fascinated by how human beings think, feel, and behave...the intricate relationship between the brain, body and mind in our everyday lives. This curiosity grew into a lifelong aspiration: to help others understand themselves more deeply and connect with what truly matters to them.
I am a Psychologist specialised in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with over 15 years of experience. My career began in 2010 as a Play Therapist, supporting children and families. Over the years, I specialised in a range of therapy approaches, expanding my work to support adults facing challenges related to mood disorders, anxiety disorders, alcohol and substance use disorders, trauma, interpersonal issues, and sexual wellbeing.
Alongside my clinical practice, I have built an academic career with an MSc in Experimental Psychology in Italy, an MRes in Digital Health in the UK, and I am finalising a PhD in Psychology at the University of East Anglia in UK, where I investigated how loneliness shapes our perceptions and behaviours using immersive technologies such as virtual reality. This dual expertise allows me to bridge science and practice: I translate cutting-edge research into therapy, while my therapeutic work grounds my research in real-world needs. Above all, I aim to create a safe and supportive space where people can explore what is happening for them and take steps towards positive and meaningful change.
When I am not working, I love spending time in nature, being around all kinds of animals, and appreciating the small joys of everyday life. Social issues matter deeply to me, and I enjoy learning new languages and cultures while striving to become a better version of myself. Colours in life are the way I experience life: vibrant, layered, and deeply expressive. In many ways, whether in or outside of therapy, my aspiration is the same: to accompany people on their journey of growth and wellbeing.
